University presentation : name, location, short history and housing.
The Czech University of Life Sciences is a university located in Prague that was founded in 1906 under the name "Higher Agricultural College in Prague". By 1952 it had been rebranded "Czech University of Agriculture", before changing again in 1995 into its current name.
This university has an established history of teaching and research in agriculture, forestry, environment management, nature management engineering and agricultural economics. They are well known for their outstanding academic programs and modern facilities.
History of This University This university can be traced back to 1906 with an imperial decree by Franz Joseph I, creating the Faculty of Agriculture at Czech Polytechnic in Prague. Professor Julius Stoklasa was chosen as its inaugural dean and quickly established itself through dedicated professors and students alike. From its inception (1906/1907), its activity thrived rapidly under its founding dean Julius Stoklasa's supervision.
First World War was an interruption of university development; however, with the creation of Czechoslovak Republic (in 1918), rapid advancement occurred quickly. Education reform led to structural modifications within Czech polytechnics (which eventually were renamed Czech Technical University in Prague in 1920).
Housing options available to us students include dormitories located on campus with single and shared rooms; as well as Prague city accommodations well served by public transit.
Overall, the Czech University of Life Sciences is an internationally acclaimed university that provides high-quality education in agricultural sciences and life sciences.
